Why do so many people wear goggles in the tanning bed?

I see a lot of tanned woman with white rings around their eyes!

I don’t have those white rings around my eyes because I never wear tanning goggles.

you are silly to use a tanning bed – STOP

young women have died from developing melanoma after sun beds in Australia and the govt is now tightly regulating their use and really they should be banned altogether

google youtube and I am sure you will find clips of them speaking and warning against sunbeds, before their deaths

Sunbeds can give you skin cancer and goggles have to be worn or you will end up blind. They should be banned worldwide. Go sit on a beach or use fake tan.

Uh, that’s because they’re only moderately stupid, unlike you with your utter stupidity.

The reason you’re required to wear those ugly goggles is because all that beautiful tanning light can burn your retina dead and cause all sorts of other sight threatening problems.

Don’t brag about being clueless. The goggles are to protect your eyes from the ultraviolet rays that can damage the eyes by causing cataracts over time as well as skin cancer. Your skin develops a tan in an effort to provide a defense against these rays, but the eyes cannot tan so you need goggles or at least good quality sun glasses for protection..

The above 2 are correct (rated the people who were telling how horrible tanning is down because they are NOT answering the question).

The UV light can harm your eye (retina) and can lead to color blindness. The lines can come from just sunglasses. I’d suggest you wear instead of peepers, winkease because they are just sticky things that block 100% of UV light and you can see just fine through them. They can be adjusted your eye size so the only line you will get is maybe a bit below your lower eyelid to above your upper eyelid. I don’t have any lines from it and I am still getting a lot darker……

It’s also illegal to not wear them while tanning in a salon. They don’t always to, but are supposed to ask you if you brang eyewear. My salon provides winkease free when you go tanning there, but they aren’t very expensive at all since they are just sticky UV blocking paper lol.

Not saying you shouldn’t go tanning-I like it a lotttttttt, but please protect your eyes because you can also get eye cancer.

The human eyelid is too thin to protect the eyes from ultraviolet radiation, so merely closing your eyes is simply not enough protection.

The vitamin D create in one session of indoor tanning is equal to 100 glasses of milk. An increasing number of Americans are Vitamin D deficient. Vitamin D has the following benefits to the body, including decreasing the risk of cancer (though it can contribute to melanoma if abused, skin cancer has a higher treatment success rate than most other forms of cancer).
