Indoor tanning lotions to help prevent redness/burn?

I’ll be joining a tan salon for a month or so and am very fair skinned. I’m not sure which brands are the best or types of indoor tanning lotions that are good to help prevent redness when getting a base tan.

You can purchase inexpensive indoor tanning lotions at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Sally’s, etc.. Most places that sell outdoor lotions, sell lotions for indoor tanning. Your skin should be moisturized in order to tan. The one thing you must remember is don’t stay in the bed too long. I would suggest the first time you go, spend no more than 1/6 the maximum time for that bed. For example, if the maximum time for the bed is 20 minutes, tan for about 3 to 4 minutes. If you burn, do not resume until the redness disappears and stay in the bed for less minutes. If you don’t burn, you could tan for 3 or 4 minutes the next time, or add a minute. Go to the salon no more than twice a week while trying to get your base tan. Then once your base tan is established, tan once per week.
